Bespoke training from UP - helping you reach new heights
Many organisations prefer to have their people-training programmes written specifically for them. This may be because they have a different type of business model or that they have their own internal models and values, which all training must be congruent with. Other reasons we have experienced are companies needing to adhere to brand and corporate identity, or confidentiality procedures ensuring that the training gives competitive advantage, which they don't wish their competitors to have access to. There are as many reasons as there are organisations and we recognise that if we are to work in partnership with these organisations we must respect their aspirations as we support them in achieving the
At UP we help organisations explore their people development needs through a professional approach enabling them to achieve Unlimited Progression.
Companies we have worked with often know there is a gap somewhere blocking them from achieving their business goals. However, even when knowing there is a problem, it often helps them to have an independent expert eye to work along side them and take them through a process of identifying and pinning down the specific issues.
We believe that it is important to know what we need to achieve and what the issues are before we even begin to think about the possible solutions. The process begins with a conversation about what issues the organisation are experiencing or areas they believe need improvement.
We then take the issues apart and with our clients we look at them from 4 perspectives.
The business impacts
The impact on our clients’ customers/clients
The impact on people within the organisation
The outside influences that are at play in the market place.
By doing this we help our clients to clarify and make manifest the issues they have. We also encourage the organisation to quantify wherever possible in monetary terms how much the issues are costing the business across the 4 areas. This can help individuals in the organization to influence effectively for resolutions to be invested in and also provides a measure for how successful any solutions ultimately put in place are.
At this point the client knows what the issues are, who has them, and the damage being done to their progression.
Only at this point do we at UP begin to think about possible solutions. We can do this in two ways, we can go away and put together a proposal of what we recommend to help the client overcome the issues or we can work in partnership with the organisation to create a joint solution. Where our clients have a highly developed internal people development department this can work well as it generates ownership
Once a proposal has been created we again meet with the client to take them though it and answer any queries or questions they might have in that regard. We understand that it is important. At this stage the client will either make their decision, or ask for some amendments to be made.
If the client decides to go ahead we agree a schedule and a quality control process for the design and we begin to schedule in the delivery of the solution out into the business.
The final part of this process is a post implementation review, we gather feedback from those trained to manage the quality and usefulness of the training from the very first course so that any improvements can be put into effect rapidly. The final review happens with the client at the end of the implementation stage, and in cases where the client is in agreement we also prefer to carry out a review 3 to 6 months down the line to measure the actual return on the investment in the training.
A partially bespoke offering from UP
We at UP know that many of our clients prefer to have the training match their organisations in some key areas such as branding, corporate identity, sales process and values whilst not necessarily wishing to have a completely unique training intervention designed for them because of the higher cost involved and because their needs may indeed not be unique.
At UP we have a number of excellent generic training courses that can be used and we are happy to amend these in terms of matching the clients’ needs without the need to design them from scratch. The course materials and content are of course first class and can be tweaked to ensure the best fit for our clients whilst at the same time maintaining their efficacy as courses.
